This Week, Next Week: 27th September, 2015

Morning. Hope everyone has had a good week? Mine has been insane work wise but, perhaps because of the mindfulness, I’ve felt fairly stress free. I’m in week two of the course now and struggling with the meditation as I thought I might but finding other elements about how to stay in the present very helpful.

Book wise, I joined my new local library this weekend, though I only came away with one book, Eeny Meeny by M J Aldridge (link to goodreads).

Eeny Meeny (Helen Grace, #1)

I’d read a review of her latest book on Debbish.com a few weeks ago and it was on my list to go back to the beginning of the series.

This is the only book I picked up this week, though I did read two books, After Anna – which I have mixed feelings about, and A Study in Scarlet – which was fun to read (link to goodreads). I have wanted to read Sherlock Holmes for a while and this was a good start.

I also got two reviews posted…

Still Waters by Viveca Sten which was a great start to a crime series, set on an island on the Swedish archipelago and The Lady in the Tower by Alison Weir, the story of Anne Bolyen from her marriage to her execution.

And that’s it for this week. What about yourself- read anything good?

  1. Oh Emma, I’m so glad you got Eeny Meeny. I hope you enjoy it. It’s possibly the stuff of nightmares (in a way) but clever!

And I’m so glad the mindfulness is working. I really need to improve on that. I’m trying to do it a little more in terms of food (and when I’d usually binge-eat), but think I could use it more broadly.

    • I’m really looking forward to it. I do hope the mindfulness works for me and so far so good. It’s helped me sleep better and I think it could do so much more.

  2. Hope this week is less crazy. I didn’t read a ton either, it was mostly about shows this week! Maybe this week… hope your week ahead is a good one! 🙂

    • It’s the putting it into practice. I never thought being in the moment could be so hard! Thanks for the comments on my review – it was nice to write a non fiction review.

  3. All of those books look awesome, actually. I have heard great things about Eeny Meeny. I had my eye on Still Waters as well, glad it was as good as it looked. I am all about re-tellings of Anne Boleyn’s life story. She was such a fascinating person.
