Happy Sunday all – hope you are having a good weekend. Ours has been ok, though there has been more time spent shopping than I would like…my daughter has a neon themed birthday party to go to – I didn’t realise quite how hard it would be to find any neon clothing other than dance wear. We managed in the end but it made yesterday a long day! Today we are taking it easier, going swimming this morning followed by a lovely Sunday lunch with my parents. I plan on eating way too much and there might be a few cheeky glasses of wine in there as well!.
Blog wise, I posted two reviews this week. First up was The Ice Twins by S. K. Tremayne, a suspense with a spooky twists and a couple try to figure out which of their identical twins survived a tragic accident. I liked it a lot but loved my second book, Why Did You Lie? by Ysra Sigurdardottir. Set in Iceland, this was a really clever piece of crime fiction with seemingly unconnected people seemingly taking their own life. It was also amazingly well translated. I also wrote about encouraged others to review for the book blogger hop and posted my monthly round-up…so, all in all, a good blogging week.
Reading wise, I finished my Tuesday Intro, Fractured by Catherine McKenzie, and loved it. I’ll be posting a review Monday. I didn’t get to anything else though due to work and more TV watching in my downtime than reading (we tried some new shows including Designated Survivor, which I’m not sure about at all, and Pitch, which might be fun). I’m not sure what I will read this week, possibly the Jodi Picoult from last week as it’s calling to me and I have plenty of time to sit and savour it.
And that’s it for this week other than leaving you with a video that shows there is maybe a reason people don’t wear neon anymore (unless they are seven).
How was your week? What did you do? What did you read?

This week, I’m linking in with Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer and her Sunday Post and with (a little early) Katherine at Book Date for It’s Monday, What Are you Reading? Head over to see what other bloggers have read, written about or just added to their shelves.
Can’t wait to read Fractured!!!! 🙂

Ha! I was a child of the 1980s so had a lot of neon! Socks, gloves, belts and so forth. I didn’t have a CHOOSE LIFE shirt though! (And I loved WHAM!)

I had a few pieces of neon but discovered black by the time I was a teenager and never looked back. 😄

Oh my gosh, neon, I hope it never becomes popular again. Ha ha! I have my blogversary giveaway running this month, so I am excited about that. Have a fabulous week 🙂

I read the Ice Twins and thought it was pretty good too. Maybe I will check out Why Did You Lie since you said you liked that one even better. Hope you have a great week!

I think they are both different in that The Ice Twins had the spooky side. I almost think it’s a ghost story, which I do love. I just got so drawn into Why Did You Lie? In a way I don’t always with books. Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a good week.

I am really looking forward to Fractured…and I love the look of Why Did You Lie?
Neon…when my daughter was little, she loved a show called Punky Brewster, who wore lots of layers and colors. Needless to say, we had to buy a few of those items…lol.
Love that video! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.

I had forgotten about Punky Brewster. I just kept thinking of an awful neon pink leopard print shorts set I had (which sent shivers down my spine and wish I am glad there are no photos of). I just hope it isn’t coming back into fashion!

I didn’t actually get my reading reviewed this week, so I hope to get that done today. Thanks for sharing your reviews!

More than I imagined. I don’t know why I thought it might be easy and left it till the last minute. Thank god they are kids and how they look doesn’t matter too much amongst friends!

Ugh… I recall traipsing around shops looking for some particular item of wardrobe with the children when they were younger! Hope the Sunday lunch went really well – it sounds like you deserved it:) This is my Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/10/02/sunday-post-2nd-october/

Lunch was lovely. You cannot beat Sunday lunch. I dread every time I open an invite to a party in case it says “fancy dress optional” because it never is, it’s always mandatory.

Oh I know that one. My worst experience though, is when my sister-in-law initially said fancy dress and then changed her mind and forgot to tell us. I arrived as a Christmas Fairy, complete with fake eyelashes and rouged cheeks, with everyone else there in smart party clothes…

Ahhh. Neon… Please don’t let that make a comeback!!!
Have a great week and happy October!

They are both eye catching in their own way I think. The title of The Ice Twins too just catches your imagination too. I pray neon doesn’t come back either though it was fun listening to wham again. Have. A Good week.

Oh neon has to be super hard to shop for. I can’t remember the last time I saw a neon clothing piece in a shop here.
